For decades, Delta Machine Company is recognized as a leader in machining high-precision, tight tolerance parts out of titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and other superalloys. But the story behind its success is a fact lesser known to many, but definitely worth pondering over. Much like the saying, “Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion,” Delta Machine Company’s prominent position in the industry was the result of two visionaries—Bela Bacsa and Janos Garaczi. While the former laid the foundational stones of the company, the latter drove it to a new era of growth and prosperity.

Bacsa’s decades-worth experience in the U.S. manufacturing industry, paired with his entrepreneurial passion, gave birth to Delta Machine Company in 1980. His attention to detail, strong work ethics, and extensive knowledge in engineering gave it the momentum required to be competitive in the industry. The company was well received and eventually applauded for its machining capabilities. In 2016 a new age of innovation dawned for Delta Machine Company as Garaczi assumed the leadership. “My thoughts are always at odds with conventional ways of machining parts. I always strive to find the right alternatives,” says Garaczi, the President of Delta Machine Company. “I wanted to augment the company’s core capabilities with the most advanced machines, automation and robotics technology while empowering it with my unique approach, engineering and programming skills.”

Garaczi served as the helmsman for several transformations and acquisitions of Delta Machine Company. At the end of 2016 the company bought its first Matsuura h Plus 405 multi-pallet horizontal machining center (HMC) that was capable of running 24/7 unattended. Dedicated to better serve its clients, the company incorporated several Matsuura MX-520 5-axis machines with robots, additional HMCs, and precision CNC lathes down the line. “Our horizontal and 5-axis machining centers are equipped with the latest Renishaw probes for automated in-process measuring capability, fire suppression system for titanium machining safety, automation and up to 245 tools to be able to run 24/7 lights-out,” mentions Garaczi.

This helped the company deliver machined parts to its clients without fail, even during the pandemic, where most machine shops were struggling to sustain their viable operations.

Furthermore, Delta Machine Company has unparalleled expertise in castings, forgings and sintered parts, making it one of the most sought-after machine shops for a wide range of industry verticals, including defense, automotive, medical, aerospace, and commercial industries. What gives the company an extra edge is Garaczi’s exceptional programming skills and deep understanding of material behavior and unique machining approach that helps machine titanium, stainless steel and aluminum parts at large volumes while still ensuring the highest quality and holding the tightest tolerances.

With such powerful in-house capabilities and engineering expertise, Delta Machine Company serves as a reliable supply chain partner with the ability to fast-flex into surge conditions, take on new parts quickly, and do so with uncompromising quality and ensuring minimal lead-time. For instance, the company was able to reduce the machining time of titanium engine mounts built for Boeing 787 from 14 hours to 6 hours per part and a Boeing 737max titanium fire seal support from 22 hours to 9.5 hours.

Such instances of success testify Garaczi’s dedication toward providing industry-best machined parts to clients and his passion for embracing new machining techniques and heading to Industry 4.0. “We are continuously researching new technologies, automation, tools, equipment, and methods to improve our machining capabilities, quality, and delivery times to make sure we stay ahead of the game,” adds Garaczi. “As a responsible entrepreneur and tech-enabler, I am planning to work with training centers and schools to share my expertise with the next generation. This way, I envision to help passionate millennials gain in-depth know-how in machining, empowering them to drive the industry towards even greater heights.”
